Hawzah News Agency- In an exclusive interview with Hawzah News Agency, Zohreh Shariat Naseri, head of the Islamic Studies Research Center at Jamiat Al-Zahra Seminary, emphasized that Hazrat Zainab (PBUH) stood as a fearless and articulate voice of resistance in society. “In the aftermath of Ashura, she became a living symbol of explaining the truth and awakening free consciences, unafraid to confront power and falsehood,” she said.
Citing verse 125 of Surah An-Nahl, which calls on believers to “invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good advice, and argue with them in the best way,” Shariat Naseri stressed that the concept of jihad of explanation—the struggle to explain and clarify truth—is a continuous religious duty in Islam. “Both the content and the method matter,” she added, noting that wisdom and ethical engagement are central to the Quranic approach.
She warned that silence in the face of distortion or concealment of the truth runs counter to this divine obligation.
Referring to the emphasis placed by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the role of the “middle circles” in society, Shariat Naseri explained that these groups—including seminary and university scholars, cultural figures, clerics, and officials—are essential in bridging the gap between leadership and the public.
“These middle circles are the vital link in transmitting the values, teachings, and strategic directions of the Islamic system to the people,” she said. “Their primary mission is to raise public awareness and articulate the system’s core principles in a way that resonates with society.”
Shariat Naseri concluded by reaffirming that in the current era of misinformation and distortion, figures like Hazrat Zainab (PBUH) remain inspirational models for those engaged in the intellectual and spiritual resistance against injustice.
